Military Keepsake Box — Frequently Asked Questions
Honor Defined is a veteran-founded company dedicated to preserving the stories, achievements, and legacies of those who have served our country and communities. We create custom legacy display boxes paired with a personalized digital archive accessible through a unique QR code. This is where tradition meets technology!
Honor Defined combines a handcrafted physical display with a living digital legacy. Families can preserve not only medals and memorabilia, but also photos, videos, written stories, service history, awards, and personal memories all in one place. We don't want to just have someone display their service, we want THEM to tell the story. Bridging the gap between what's displayed and the unique and personal story behind it.
- —Military or service history
- —Photos
- —Videos
- —Personal stories
- —Awards and citations
- —Deployment memories
- —Family tributes
- —Voice recordings
- —Letters and documents
- —Ongoing updates from family members
Each box includes a personalized, one-of-a-kind QR code. When scanned with a phone or tablet, it opens the hero's private digital legacy page where their preserved memories and stories can be viewed anytime. The page is set up with an Introduction section to give a quick overview of their service, a detailed History section where they can tell their entire story from beginning to end with pictures and videos included, and lastly an Awards and Accolades section where their ribbons, medals, uniform items, and certificates are displayed in a beautiful color layout — with the details written to give each one meaning and context.
Our legacy boxes are perfect for:
- —Veterans
- —Active-duty military
- —First responders
- —Law enforcement officers
- —Firefighters
- —EMTs
- —Community heroes
- —Gold Star families
Yes. One of the most powerful parts of Honor Defined is that the story never has to end. Families can continue submitting photos, stories, videos, and memories to expand the legacy for future generations.
Absolutely. Every Honor Defined box is custom-built to reflect the unique story, branch of service, achievements, and personality of the hero being honored. We offer the standard box, but can customize any box to the exact needs of the customer. It is our passion to make the very best box to honor a hero's legacy.
Production timelines vary depending on customization and content submission, but most projects are completed within 7–14 business days after final consultation and digital materials are received. Higher levels of customization can add length to the production, which is laid out during consultation.
Yes. Privacy is important to us. Families can control what information is shared publicly and what remains private. The only access point is through the QR code, so it is in the control of the family who they share it with. Additionally, you have the option to add a 6-digit passcode to access the archive for extra privacy.
Yes. We are deeply honored to help preserve the legacies of fallen service members and community heroes with dignity, respect, and care. We work very closely with each fallen family to truly capture the honor of their loved one.
Yes. We work with military organizations, veterans groups, police and fire departments, nonprofits, and community organizations for memorial presentations and group projects. We have done many multi-box orders and customize each one individually.
